Tokessy’s road to U.S. collegiate success is the epitome of Knights baseball.
Battling back from Tommy John surgery, he decided to remain at home in high school one extra year and pursue his baseball dreams. When Monroe once again came to the Knights looking for pitchers, Mike answered the call and has never looked back.
Tokessy spent two seasons at Monroe Community College in Rochester, N.Y. where he won the David Johns Memorial Award and received Academic All-American Honors. In his sophomore year, Tokessy pitched his way to a 5-2 record and 2.88 ERA. In 11 appearances, Tokessy saw 50 innings of action, including some important efforts at the JUCO World Series in Millington, Tennessee.
He has been rewarded with a major athletic scholarship at Georgia College and State University (NCAA Division II), in Milledgeville, Ga. Tokessy figures to challenge for a spot in the starting rotation this season. He also figures prominently in Knights training and development camps, practicing with and mentoring young pitchers.
